What the f–k is up with the URLs?

February 24th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Site Updates

Well, if you’re seeing this post, then nothing should be wrong, but you may be a little confused by the structure, so to be on the safe side, I’ll explain it…

Here’s an example: http://logos.ctufilms.com/uncategorized/admin/2009/01/high-definition/

  • http://logos.ctufilms.com - our domain name, that hasn’t changed.
  • uncategorized - that’s the category base (i.e. what the post is labelled under when it’s added to our database)
  • admin - the username of the poster (in this case, myself)
  • 2009 - the year
  • 01 - the month
  • high-definition - the post slug

I know most of you aren’t as technically inclined as myself, but either way, its better to explain things than to get multiple “WTF” messages in my inbox…

…alright, now back to work on that forum…nyuk, nyuk, nyuk…

Forum, anyone?

(Looks around) I take that as a yes…

Alrighty, then, let’s do this thing!

Tomorrow, I’ll be installing the bbPress plugin for this software, which means your FTVLM login will finally have some use…YEEEEAAAAH!!!

…I’ll never do a Lil’ Jon impression again.

High Definition? HELL YEAH!

So I’m watching the season premiere of 24 on the local Fox station (btw, if you haven’t seen the new season of 24 yet, I highly recommend you do A.S.A.P.) when at the end, I see the end logos…normally it would be no big deal, but I recently got one of those DTV converter boxes, and I tell ya right now, logos look SWEET on the HD feed…

Matter of fact, below the break, be sure to vote on the new poll about HDTV and what you think of it.

Anyway, I finally realized that I alone cannot post the descriptions up on here. I need help…BADLY. So if you’re interested in helping, please comment below and I’ll point you in the right direction…

Rarities for the New Year

December 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

As the New Year is coming; I am going to continue with my list of rarities for the public knowledge, with a brief description of the on-screen logo and a little “scare factor” comment:

Rysher Distribution: It’s just the first Rysher logo, only the words “Distributed by” are seen above the logo –cheaply chryoned in- and the words “ENTERTAINMENT” are replaced by “DISTRIBUTION”. The jazzy theme which accompanies this logo makes it a favorite of many people.
Operation Prime Time: Very rare to find, as nowadays is only intact at the end of Yogi’s First Christmas on Boomerang. The logo consists on a black background, with four rainbow-colored lines coming and forming the letters “O”, “P” and “T” on a very 70’s design. When “OPT” is formed, the words “OPERATION PRIME TIME” zooms out, and the text “for better programming” appears under. People seem to be scared by the gaudy colors, the animation or the design.
Blue André Productions: Seen on some Christmas TV Movies. The name “BLUE ANDRE” is seen on a blue background, and then a “comet like object” comes and puts the ‘ on the “E”. Then, the whole logo changes to a black background and the lettering in blue. Nice concept on this one.
Bel Air Productions: We see an angle of a big bridge, then a shield saying “A BEL-AIR PRODUCTION”, on stylized lettering, zooms up. It hasn’t got jingle, just the opening theme of the movie.
American Producers Associated: This logo is seen exclusively on the VHS tape for the movie Bad Taste. It consist on a blue star coming in from the upper-left corner, stopping in the centre before zooming off into space, then a gold triangle with an eye inside it comes up, zooming into space before coming back at the top of the screen and flashing like the blue star. The words “AMERICAN PRODUCERS ASSOCIATED” reveal left-to-right across the ribbon. The blue star then engulfs the top half of the logo, and the entire thing zooms back out into space. Very cheesy logo, made with early CGI techniques.
KidVision: Seen on the Magic School Bus tapes, this childish logo consist on a blackboard, with chalk writing out “KidVision”. As it is done the writing, the chalk draws a red rectangle around the words, and a star come coloring the text. Nice logo, especially for little kids.
National General Corporation: On a blue or red background, we see many brass lines, looking like a wheel, spinning, which zooms in. After it stops zooming, a “G” appears. Then the wheel disappears, and then “NC” zooms in, located inside the “G”. Then “NATIONAL GENERAL CORPORATION” appears under it. The jingle is a drum-based jingle synchronized with the logo.
ALMI Television Productions: This company never distributed anything through television. Just were theatrical movies that when shown on television had the legend “PICTURES” replaced by “TELEVISION”. This indent consist on a dark blue background, we see tri-dimensional red stripes forming the word “ALMI”. When the forming is complete, the logo starts to shine twice. Then a rectangle zooms out from nowhere, and places itself around “ALMI” and the word “Television” in cursive, draws under it and shines. “Television” is between 2 red lines. It is a very beautiful logo. A perfect combination of lights and effects that is one of the most memorable logos from the 80’s.
Warner Bros. International Television: Just the Warner Home Video from 1997, but the words seen on the ring are “WARNER BROS. INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION”.
From New Line Cinema: Just the New Line logo from 1988 with the words “FROM” above “N E W  L I N E  C I N E M A”.
Playboy Productions: On a black background, we see a square with a cyclone shape inside with dark red, light red, orange, and yellow swirls. In the center circle is the Playboy bunny as seen on Playboy merchandise. The words “a Playboy production” are below, in a circle font similar to the Publix logo.

Happy New Year
