Today, it was pointed out to me (thanks to the C3’s own John Okeke) that New Line Cinema, the studio that brought us films like “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “The Lord of the Rings,” will be merging with corporate cousin Warner Bros. Pictures. This officially means that the New Line franchise is officially in the books…

Here’s what the Los Angeles Times reported when news of this broke on February 29th…

Roll the credits on New Line Cinema, the 40-year-old studio behind such iconic movie franchises as “The Lord of the Rings,” “Austin Powers” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”

The company will lay off hundreds of employees between its Los Angeles and New York facilities and be merged into its corporate sibling, Warner Bros.

The consolidation marks the end of the line for the once scrappy producer that prided itself on taking creative risks that other studios wouldn’t. But in recent years New Line strayed from its street-smart roots with a slew of costly flops that ended its role as a big-time player in the volatile movie business.

I have been getting quite a few logo descriptions submitted to me lately, thanks to the “Add your logo description” form on the Descriptions page, and I am happy about this…mostly.

What I am not happy about is the fact that UNREGISTERED users have been submitting descriptions, when I directly put that registered users can submit descriptions, but that people who have not registered cannot submit. This is because I want to reduce the number of bogus submissions that come in, as well as to acknowledge who sent the submission.

Registering an account on this site is really easy, as it takes about 90 seconds on average, and it allows you to access more parts of the FTVLM, like the upcoming forum and to send descriptions to us that we may not have, in addition to some more stuff that might be coming in the near future…

If you wish to register an account with us right now, just scroll down to the “User Tools” section on the right side, and click on “Register.”

 Thanks, and enjoy your stay!

Allright, I don’t have to explain much about our extensive collection of logos, rare and common alike.

However, we’re always looking for more (whether or not that makes us greedy, I don’t know) to add to our collection - and we have an easy way for you to add to our collection.

Just go to the myFTVLM section, and underneath the player, there will be a link that says “Upload a logo for myFTVLM.” Just follow the steps and before ya know it, your ultra-rare find will be seen by logo buffs around the world! Also, you can see when a new logo has been added to the myFTVLM section by looking at the RSS feed on the right sidebar. (Betcha didn’t know that, huh?)

…well, enjoy!
